Ooc-Om-Boc Festival, (15) occurs yearly on the 10th full moon in the Vietnamese lunar calendar, is one of the three most important celebrations among Khmer people culture, particularly in Soc Trang. For them, the moon controls the weather and harvests within a year. Therefore, (16) midnight, when the moon is at its highest point, a wide range of farm products: bananas, coconuts, sweet potatoes, and new sticky rice are used as offerings.
The event's highlight (17) The race of Ghe Ngo, a unique type of wood boat that looking like a Khmer's holy item - Nagar snake. Going to the race are 30 groups of young men and 10 groups of young ladies rowing among the sound of gongs and waves, with the cheers of a large crowd.
